Bolly Heat

This weekend we watched Body, an Indian remake of Body Heat. So, imagine the classic Kathleen Turner neo-noir updated for Bollywood sensibilities . . . which means all the sex subtracted and some musical numbers added. (Both versions include wind chimes.)

Body
is controversial in India because THERE IS KISSING IN IT, which is normally taboo. The film is controversial in the West because its original title was J i s m, which I'm guessing means something very different over there.

Greg has put the Bollywood remake of Reservoir Dogs in the Netflix queue. There is also a Bollywood version of The Silence of the Lambs, starring the angel-eyed Priety Zinta, but it is not available on video because it was a huge flop.
